What is cannabidiol / CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is an organic compound that comes from the leaves, stalks, and flowers of industrial hemp or cannabis plant. It is the most widely accepted non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis. CBD oil should not be confused with marijuana even though they both come from cannabis; we extract the CBD oil contained in Jim Hemp™ products from industrial hemp.

Is CBD oil legal?

CBD oil and other hemp-extracted products are perfectly legal to be used and sold within the United States. The growing, processing, and selling of hemp extracts – including cannabinoids from industrial hemp – is possible through federal regulation within Section 7606 of the Agricultural Act of 2014 which the U.S. Congress passed and signed into law.

Will using CBD oil get me “high?”

Because CBD is a non-psychoactive component from industrial hemp, it doesn’t any elements of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) that is familiar with cannabis; therefore, there’s no “high” effect as a result of using CBD.

How much CBD should I take?

Because each person’s body and health condition is unique, it is difficult to set a predetermined dosage that is right for everyone. For severe symptoms, a higher dose may be required while mild symptoms won’t need as much. We recommend a consultation with your doctor or health professional to determine an amount right for you.

What makes hemp plants different from marijuana plants?

Hemp and marijuana essentially come from the same plant family, cannabis sativa. The main difference between the two is their level of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) - the illegal, psychotropic cannabinoid. According to the Agricultural Act of 2014, the Obama Administration describes legal hemp plants as containing less than 0.3% THC which also makes cannabinoids extracted from hemp, such as Cannabidiol (CBD), legal as well.
